On30 Small Lean-to Water Tank.
A small 6ft dia x 6ft high tank (scale 1200 gallon) perfect for a local water feed for your tiny structures.
THIS IS SMALL! its for small structures! the tank platform is only 3 3/4" off the ground.
Built with the KHM "TINY" engine house in mind for washing out or topping up duties.
Why lean-to? 2 reasons:-
a) it looks cute and makes the structure more interesting - On30 is fun!
b) the roof of the tiny engine house is lightweight - its not much more than a shack! 1200 gallons of water weighs 5 tons. the lean-to frame can be propped up against really flimsy backwood structures.
Water tank features:-
-> Water tank is a microply wrapper around an internal core. it has 3 external jigs that hold the wrapper in place while the glues dries.
-> tank lid includes hatch which has many little details.
-> tank hoops and fasteners.
-> water gauge. includes lathe-turned brass pulley and pre-prepared parts.
-> hoop rung ladder for access to the top of the tank.
-> piping for inlet feed and outlet pipe. (note It doesn't have a spout! its not that kind of water tank!!
Lean-to mount features:
-> tank platform etched with planking and nail holes
-> laser cut support structure - not just a bag of sticks!
-> Frame work includes TENON AND MORTISE JOINTS and Crosshalf joints - LASER CUT INTO THE WOOD. so cool. normally you'd only get that in resin kits. This feels like doing real woodwork - but without the effort :)
-> frost box - with nice little hinge and handle detail for the forst box access hatch
-> assembly jigs.
-> ladder platform - can be positioned anywhere around the tank plaform to suit your structure.
-> 24ft wooden ladder (actually 2 in the fret). you will be cutting it down! steps are set into the stringer - so its a robust ladder to keep your little people safe - not those ones that are a bear to assemble and the steps keep falling off! You know exactly the ones I mean ;)
